Exhaustive study of 17 Rochester, New York-area Civil War regiments and artillery batteries with details on the battles in which they were involved and profiles of several of their soldiers. These units were engaged in all the key battles agains the Confederates in the East, from Port Hudson, Chattanooga, and Atlanta to Plymouth, Moblile ,and New Orleans.
