After attending Millersville University in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania he worked with several large corporations before founding Sharrow Janitorial in 1973. Since George,s retirement a few years ago, the business has been owned by his wife, Joanne, and his son, Jeff.
As a civilian George is active with the U.S. Navy League, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Council, Navy Club #257, Minersville, Pennsylvania, VFW Post 710, Steelton, Pennsylvania, American Legion Post 1001, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; the National and State LST Association, the National and State LSM/LSMR Association, the USS Deuel Association, and the AGC Flagship Alliance Association.
George has written several books and has formed Sharrow Publications for the publication, sale, and marketing of his books. Joanne, his wife, and Jeff, his son, are the owners of Sharrow Publications.
