272 p. 24 cm. Signed by Author Sound and square binding in linen-covered boards with a linen-covered sleeve. Virtually no discernable wear to the boards or pages. The tissue guard covering the two prints included has a tiny tear and corner fold. The sleeve has a tiny bit of corner wear and soil. A limited edition book on birds by Canadian ornithologist and artist Terry Shortt. Also published as a trade edtion. Shortt was a staff member at the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto for over 40 years. He played an important role in the advancement of ornithology in field research and as an artist of exceptional insight. His renderings from life of bird portraits and intimate attitudes of nearly 2000 bird species, display his exceptional powers of observation and his uncanny ability to portray a bird's essence. (from: The Canadian Encylopedia). This volume is number 35 of a limited printing of 60 copies. It is signed and numbered on the title page by Terry Shortt and has a blind stamp from the publisher which says Mint Edition. Included in the back of the book are two limited edition bird prints 6" x 9" (the Great Horned Owl and the Red Merganser), each numbered 35 of 300 and signed by Shortt. A scarce copy.
