Synopsis

Sixteen-year-old Xanthe Collister's life is getting complicated. She no longer gets along with her parents and they've just moved into a new house right across the back lane from their old one a move she resents. Her school grades are falling. To make matters worse her parents, her brother and her best friend don't like her new boyfriend, Colton Tanner.

Xanthe can't understand why they wouldn't. He's loving, caring and generous. And for Christmas he gave her a beautiful glass pyramid which is supposed to help wishes come true.

Xanthe is also surrounded by her brother's friends, Peter, Andy and Ward. Then things start going wrong. When Xanthe is grounded for two weeks, Colton begins to act strange following her home, phoning often to check on her, threatening her.

Meanwhile Xanthe's relationship with her mother reaches an all time low. And then Ward has a party...and Xanthe's wish comes true in a way she never would have predicted.

About the Author

Ishbel Moore writes with a fluid lyrical style that reflects her keen musical interests. Born in Scotland, she emigrated as a teenage to Canada with her family. The enthusiastic reception of Moore's first YA novel, Dolina May, now in reprint, has encouraged her to continue writing for Young Adults. Dolina's Grad and Xanthe's Pyramid are the result. Moore has also authored three Middle Readers for a younger audience.

Moore travels extensively promoting writing and helping writers in rural communities establish peer-support groups. Her Blue Pencil Critiquing Service, intended primarily for isolated writers, has expanded to include any writer needing assistance.
