Time-Life special edition with BOOKPLATE SIGNED BY PHOTOGRAPHER ANSEL ADAMS - copyright page states "Fourth printing. 1981" (book was first published 1979) . 28, [2] pages followed by 114 unnumbered pages of b/w plates, List of Photographs, and Acknowledgements. Oblong hardcover: H 31.25cm x L 38.5cm. Gray dust jacket rubbed; small dark stain at front panel's upper right; bumping/creasing at edges along with some nicks and short tears; mostly closed 10cm tear descending from rear panel's top right corner into spine panel; top corner of front flap is price-clipped; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Maroon cloth spine with bright gilt stamped lettering; blue cloth boards have light slender color fading along top and bottom edges; slender white streak at rear board's upper center. Small patch of light soiling at center fore-edge of front free endpaper recto; interior pages are otherwise bright and clean. Binding is firm. A very good copy in a good+ dust jacket. With frontispiece, Foreword by Ansel Adams, Introductory essay titled "Yosemite: The Seeing Eye and the Written Word" by Paul Brooks. Features 116 stunning b/w images (including frontis) of Yosemite National Park and the Sierra Nevada. Black ink signature "Ansel Adams" on Time-Life bookplate affixed at center of front free endpaper and dated 1981 (matching copyright).
