A panoramic view of the Spaarne near Haarlem. Delicate etching in green on laid paper, sheet size 149 x 406 mm., platemark 72 x 335 mm., marked 'épreuve d'artiste' in pencil behind the title. Signed in pencil lower right. Dirk Harting (Salatiga 1884-1970 Haarlem) was a Dutch graphic artist, painter, draughtsperson, and print collector, born in Indonesia. His training was at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, where he was a student of Pieter Dupont and Willem Witsen, both accomplished artists and etchers. In very good condition, sheet overall a little discoloured.
