A collection of Legal Documents Pertaining to the Estate of Col. W.E.P. Bastard

The documents comprise: 5 documents - The first two are regarding the appointment New Trustees of a Settlement of April 16th 1890 made on the marriage of Bastard with Rosamund Isabel Foster. This is between Bastard and Philip Haveley Foster and others. The second is also the Appointment of New Trustees under a resettlement dated 27th April 1903 of the Bastard Family Estates. This is between Philip Haveley Foster & another and Capt. R.A.C. Foster & another. The third and fourth items are a Release of the Bastard Estates & a Declaration of Trust between Mrs. R.B. Little & others and Lt. Col. W.E.P. Bastard. The first two are dated 11th April and the next two dated 30th May, 1924.All parties to the agreements have signed them. The final item is an account of the apportionment of Income on the death of Col. Bastard to 14th June 1924. This is signed by Walter L.D. Radcliffe, Rosamond B. Little, Petronel J. Bastard, I. May Bastard, Wilfreda A. Trelawny-Ross and C. Joanne bastard. Lt. Col. W.E.P. Bastard (1864-1924) served with the Royal Engineers during WW1. He was made Lt-Colonel of the Devonshire Fortress Engineers in 1915. In 1923 he was High Sheriff of Devon. Lt-Col Bastard lived at Lyneham House, Yealmpton, Devon. Built in 1716, a grade 1 listed Georgian mansion. He inherited Kitley House and Buckland Court from his father in 1915, but sold Buckland in 1923. At his death Kitley passed to his second cousin once removed, Col. Reginald Bastard (1880-1960). William's Estate was £244,382. …
