Hardcover, revised edition of 1861. Embossed cover with gilt lettering on spine. Inscribed by the author to his son. Closed tear (approx 8mm) at top of f.p., Tight binding, no other internal markings. A few tiny age spots. Very slight discoloration on the spine. Exceptional condition in a very hard edition to find. The author was a Professor of intellectual and moral science at Wesleyan University in the mid 1800's.
