A copper engraved view on wove paper, coloured, from Volume 1 (Plate VI) of Daniel Schaffer's 1801 work: Der Weltumsegler. The title is taken from the list of plates in the book, and is nowhere printed on the plate. The image size is 4.5 x 5.5 inches, on a sheet measuring 6.5 x 8 inches. Condition is very good, upper right margin torn away not affecting the image. At the lower left is printed: "M Haas Sc". The image depicts a Mico, leader of the Free Indians, and his wives, who sprinkle their cut hair upon a grave in which are sticking arrows. Seller Inventory # 56381
