回顾80来年的经历，在中国生活了57年，"洋插队"到加拿大也已25年。不同社会制度的国家和工农商学兵等行当我都亲身体验过，阅历可能比绝大多数的中国人都要丰富很多。我把这些现在还能回忆起来的、自己经历过的事物和一些内心的活动，用文字如实地记录下来，是认为通过对自己生活经历的系统回顾，可能对个人的历史有更全面的认识和新的感悟，从而使以后的生活过得更明白、更好一些。

不是给自己和别人正式写传记，更谈不上对自己几十年来的人生路程进行深入地剖析。希望有机会看到这些材料的人，不要用严肃的传记标准要求它，仅仅把它看作是一个老年人讲的一些亲身经历的小故事和个人体验。
