(publisher's list). Original cloth, water spots on both covers, wear at edges, corners bumped. Fair copy. Collated and complete. "The political litany" supposedly parodied the litany and libelled the Prince Regent; "The sinecurist's creed" was a parody of the Athanasian Creed. Newspaper clipping, "How the liberty of the press was won. The cause of the crusade - The three extraordinary trials of William Hone - Triumphant acquittal - Resignation of the Lord Chief Justice," 5 May 1904, laid down on front paste-down. Signature of T. W. Freckelton in upper margin of title. Originally published in 1818.
