Andreas Reeg, an upcoming photographer emphatically pictures four individual people with Down’s syndrome. Having accompanied the protagonists over several weeks, Reeg’s intimate pictures evoke ideas of strength and tenderness, naturalness and dignity. A profound essay by Cora Halder explores society’s changing view of the syndrome from its discovery in 1866 by the physician J. L. Down until today.
