UNDERDOGS II... STILL TRYING TO LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE WITH YOUR BEST FRIEND… BUT IN LOCKDOWN.

Gray Freeman classes himself as a travel writer. Brendan Freedog classes himself as a dog. Following on from their first book, “underdogs”, they found they were unable to return to a life on the road as the coronavirus cast its black shadow over the world.

During the period of enforced isolation, they decided to use the time to try and make themselves a better person and a better dog, and – most importantly – to try and find positivity in every day. This began well, but it wasn’t long before their world started to fall apart.

Dog Days is a diary of that unprecedented period in history. It is a book about trying to overcome national and personal difficulties, it is a book about trying your best. It is also a book about failing. Dog Days is in turns touching, funny, optimistic, poignant, tragic and very human. It is about how an average person copes… or perhaps doesn’t cope… during bizarre enforced circumstances. Despite everything going wrong in the world, Dog Days is about the joy of spending every second of every day with your best friend.
