Early ownership signature of George Peacock, 1772; James Hudson Hamsted, 1824; and James Hudson Marden, 1841. Later bookplate of Nigel Stoughton. A single copy at the National Library of Scotland has a varying imprint (not recorded by Alston). The text sheets were also issued in a pirated edition in 1763 in two volumes, with different title pages and no Preface or final advertisement leaf, as: The New Royal and Universal Dictionary . by J.
