Since 1817 Karl Drais invented the running machine, fascinated by the balance on two wheels. Consistent lightweight and perfect ergonomics have since the determining parameters in bicycle. Nevertheless, the appearance of the bike - from social, economic and technical conditions dependent - changed manifold over the past two hundred years.

The development of the bicycle from its beginnings up to his comeback in the 1980s is clearly and thoroughly traced by Florian friend who has been working his youth with bicycle history. As an experienced designer photo he is 43 selected exhibits the collection of Siegfried steel professionally into the light.
