Douglas Sease is a writer and editor, and John Prestbo is Markets Editor, both at The Wall Street Journal. Their other books include The Wall Street Journal Book of International Investing. The authors live in Westfield, New Jersey and Skillman, New Jersey, respectively.

The focus is narrow: investments, pure and simple. Starting off with the traditional "set your objectives," these two journalists move on to cogent explanations of asset allocation, or spreading the wealth, then examine all the different vehicles, from stocks to contemporary art.
