Synopsis
When Hitler invaded Poland, little did he realise that, not only was he taking on the allies, but also a group of Boy Scouts from Streetly, known as the 'Yellow Six'. Their hilarious attempts to assist the war effort are chronicled by their modestly named L*E*A*D*E*R. Whether helping with the construction of air raid shelters or collecting silver paper, the "Six" leave a trail of havoc behind them whilst their "tracking" adventures in Sutton Park cause consternation to American GI's canoodling with local girls. First published by Penguin Books, this new edition should attract yet more readers to the author's work. James Clarke, now resident in South Africa, has built up an international reputation both as a journalist and for his humorous writings. The book is complete with some wonderful illustrations by his talented daughter, Julie Clarke.
