About the Author
Julia Donaldson, recently appointed as the Waterstone's Children's Laureate, is the outrageously talented, prize-winning author of some of the world's most-loved picture books, most notably The Gruffalo, which has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. In addition, Julia writes fiction, as well as poems, plays, and songs. Clare Melinsky's beautiful lino-cuts follow the style of traditional woodcuts. Over the last twenty years her illustrations have been used in books, magazines, and newspapers, and include the Harry Potter covers for Bloomsbury.
