Baby-Toddler—A high-contrast book employs a limited palette of black, white, and green to engage the focus of infants, whose eyes are still developing in the first few weeks of life. Each page shows an item that might be found in a bedroom, playroom, or classroom: building blocks, a puzzle, a rattle, a mobile. Several of the objects feature clever raised material components—padded PVC for stacking rings, a patch of felt for a teddy bear's fuzzy stomach. VERDICT An endearing book for the younger set, and a fine supplemental purchase.
