Master classic card sleights and bring mystery to your performances with clear, practical instruction.
This book introduces essential moves like the Pass, the Herrmann Pass, and the Charli re pass, teaching you how these techniques work, look, and feel real to spectators. You’ll find practical guidance, illustrated explanations, and tips to practice until your handling is smooth and confident.
The book frames each trick as a practical routine you can adapt, with emphasis on misdirection, timing, and presentation. It covers a range of effects, from card transpositions to vanish and appearance, and it explains how to use handy props such as a card box and a diminishing-pack setup. Clear steps, diagrams, and notes help you understand what to do and what to watch for while performing."synopsis" may belong to another edition of this title.
German-born August Roterberg (1867–1928) came to the United States as a teenager and started out as a mail-order magic salesman before opening a magic store in the lobby of Chicago's Palmer House Hotel. He changed the way magic books were written, addressing himself to professionals rather than amateurs, and adding illustrations, which were unusual in his day. A practicing magician, he invented the Multiplying Billiard Balls trick.
