Synopsis
This book documents the author's novel amputation method and innovative application of osmium acid to treat peripheral neuralgias. The author notes that historically other amputation methods often resulted in poor outcomes, including delayed healing due to the inability to prevent infection. The author provides evidence for the effectiveness of the new method with descriptions of cases that were treated successfully and without complication. In the latter part of the book, the author explains how injections of osmium acid were used to alleviate symptoms of neuralgia. This method also yielded positive results in the cases described by the author and, in some cases, resulted in what the author describes as total recovery.
