Synopsis
Step away from the wand . . .
Elly Knottleweed-Eversprightly comes from a long line of famous fairies. But just because one of her ancestors wrote the historic Fairy Code doesn't mean Elly loves being a fairy. In fact, she hates it. She can't stand the itchy tutus, would rather ride her skateboard than fly the Fairy Flock, and messes up all of her magic spells.
Plus, she's been kicked out of two fairy academies for turning her Synchronized Flying Instructor purple and catching a flyrus (it wasn't her fault!).
Then Elly meets Jess, a human girl who helps Elly fix her malfunctioning wand.

About the Author
Meredith Badger is the author of the Fairy School Dropout books and Tweenie Genie: Genie in Training. She is also a writer for the Go Girl! series. Originally from Australia, Meredith lives in Germany with her family.

Grade 3–5—Elly Knottleweed-Eversprightly hates being a fairy. She wants to leave the Mossy Blossom Academy for Young Fairies, where she is always in trouble. Because she has been expelled from two previous fairy academies, Mossy Blossom is her last chance. If she fails here, she will not get her "wish fulfillment license." In Badger's fairy world, fairies are human-size and live in houses just like people do. When Elly accidentally meets the human girl next door, they each become the other's answer to a wish. Elly helps Jess create a "magical" science project, and Jess repairs Elly's wand. The purple text and cartoon illustrations done in various shades of lavender are basic and repetitive.
