Synopsis
At the dawn of World War II, in rural Oklahoma, identical twins Lucien and Norman Parker are bound by the tragic death of their mother, their railroad jobs, and an abiding well of brotherly devotion. About the Author
JAMES MICHAEL PRATT is the author of The Last Valentine and The Lighthouse Keeper. He lives in Provo, Utah.

Pratt has created a family saga and a lesson in American history. Early on, we meet twin brothers Lucien and Norman Parker, who lived and worked with their father in 1930s Oklahoma. Through flashbacks, their WWII years and lives thereafter are examined by one of the brothers when he is an old man. An array of accents, locales, children, and adults are well rendered by Bruce Reisen. There are also Christian overtones throughout. Reisen's narration adds dimension to a somewhat familiar and repetitious work. Older folks, who have lived stories similar to this should particularly enjoy it.
