One year when I was in high school, I became very upset at the unfairness I saw in the world. How some people (read cliques) could treat people so badly, yet be rewarded with popularity, etc. while other very sincere and thoughtful people could be mocked and ridiculed for no apparent reason. While trying to comfort me, my mother introduced the subject of karma and gave me a copy of this book. The real life examples in this book and stories of their past lives, lessons learned and not yet learned are very compelling. HERE AND HEREAFTER also first introduced me to Edgar Cayce, who I have been fascinated to read about ever since. Reading this book at that time of my life really helped me to see that we each have our own lessons to learn and reminded me to focus on being the best person I could be.
