A lively comedy of love, money, and clever disguises that keeps the pace bright and funny from start to finish.

Fans of Restoration-era wit will find this bustling comedy rich with mistaken identities, veils and balconies, and a cast of lively ladies and meddling guardians. Its brisk scenes are built on chance encounters, fast-paced plotting, and a flavor of social satire that rewards sharp, playful dialogue.

The book balances crowd-pleasing farce with a thread of romantic intrigue. Expect bustling rooms, dramatic entrances, and a sense that anything can happen when desire, duty, and deception collide.

• Meet a web of suspects, guardians, lovers, and would‑be matchmakers driving the plot.
• Enjoy witty banter, social bustle, and theatrical misdirection.
