Typefaces come in thousands of shapes, sizes, and styles. Like verbal language, with all its nuances, dialects, and accents, different faces say distinct things to many people. Type Deck identifies characteristics and places particular forms in historical periods and aesthetic contexts. Each of the fifty-four cards features a hand-drawn character, and fascinating insight into its historical context, design, and purpose. About the Authors
Steven Heller is co-chair of the MFA Design: Designer as Author program at the School of Visual Arts, New York. His many previous books include
Typographic Universe, New Modernist Type, and Scripts.
Rick Landers is founding partner and co-creative director of graphic design studio Landers Miller Design.
