About the Author
Maggie Colvin trained as an interior designer before working on a variety of home interest magazines. She has written and contributed to several books and appears regularly on daytime television.

Both of these books are packed with a variety of home-decorating projects to get crafters and do-it-yourselfers inspired. In each, Colvin starts with simple projects that require only a little time, such as a finger-painted tray and over-the-pole curtains, and progressively works up to those that will take a couple of days to complete, such as a hand-painted chest and a bathroom makeover. The clearly written instructions are well illustrated with color photographs, but the more complex projects are best left to those with some do-it-yourself experience. Although these books are similar, they contain different projects. Both are recommended for large public libraries.
