Synopsis
Summer Kills opens this trio of short novels by Golden Saddleman Award-winner Lewis P. Patten. Old Ben Malloy, although estranged from his two sons, is nonetheless respected by them. A man without enemies, he is murdered on a noght-time trail rise, and suspicion divides his sons. In "Ride the Red Train", Lew Harvey was forced to leave home and the girl he was courting because of a shooting incident. In "Rustler's Gun", teenager Burt Norden has been diong a man's job running the N Bar ever since his father's death. But his mother is drinking away her grief, rustling in the area is getting out of hand, and Burt is headed for a confrontation with a local bully.
