Synopsis
The syndrome of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy has long been recognized clinically. The exact mechanism of how RSD develops is inadequately understood. The theories include irritation and abnormal excitation of nervous tissue, leading to abnormal impulses along nerves that affect blood vessels and skin. The brain seems to be involved and therefore the diseases may affect the peripheral nervous system (PNS). Writings in this book bring an insight and guidelines for future clinical research studies.
