About the Author:

Barry Ife is Principal of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is an international authority on Cervantes, and the author of many books and articles including Christopher Columbus: Journal of the First Voyage (Aris and Phillips 1990). Jonathan Thacker is Tutor in Spanish at Merton
College, Oxford and series editor of the Aris and Phillips Hispanic Classics. He is the author of Role-play and the World as Stage in the Comedia (Liverpool University Press 2002) and several articles on various aspects of Golden-Age drama.
