About the Author
David St. John is Professor of English at the University of Southern California. He has published several volumes of poetry since his selection as a Yale Younger Poet.
Among his many awards and prizes are The Rome Fellowship in Literature and an Academy Award in Literature, both from The American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the O. B. Hardison Prize in Poetry from The Folger Shakespeare Library.
St. John is known to many poets and other readers not only through his books and university teaching, but through the workshops he conducts all over the country.
