“If you like good comedy, you’ll love this book—truly one of the funniest books of this, or any, year.” – Laura Wagner, Classic Images “And now, here are Don Ameche and Frances Langford as John and Blanche Bickerson in... The Honeymoon Is Over” Those immortal words heralded some of the funniest husband and wife battles on radio. Written and created by Philip Rapp, the Bickersons had a career that spanned 30 years. They appeared as a radio skit on shows like The Chase and Sanborn Hour and Drene Time, then conquered television with Star Time in 1950. They’ve sold millions of Columbia Records, been installed in numerous ad campaigns, and almost made it as a cartoon series! This is a never-before-released collection of 13 of the best Bickersons scripts in existence. Including complete scripts from The Old Gold Show, The Bickersons from 1951, and Drene Time! Plus a rare, never-performed Halloween episode written for the animated series! ENJOY THESE CLASSIC COMEDY SCRIPTS FROM THE GOLDEN AGE OF OLD TIME RADIO!

Philip Rapp began writing for Eddie Cantor's radio show in the early 1930s, then moved to help create Baby Snooks for Fanny Brice. Aside from his immortal Bickersons creation, Rapp wrote hit films for Danny Kaye (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Inspector General), produced the TV series Topper, and wrote and directed the last Marx Brothers TV pilot - among many other accolades.
If you're a radio fan, snap this one up, or just get this if you need cheering up; either way you'll be satisfied. Credit Ben Ohmart for bringing back this material for a while new audience, as well as for true radio buffs. Philip Rapp's clever, often very hilarious, routines are finally assembled in book form for all to laugh along with. --Classic Images
