About the Author
Charles Monselet (1825-1888) est ne a Nantes. Journaliste et romancier, ses chroniques gastronomiques et ses critiques litteraires lui ont valu une certaine notoriete. Prefacier des "Memoires d'outre-tombe" de Chateaubriand et ami de Gauthier, il compte Hugo et Barbey d'Aurevilly parmi ses admirateurs. Le prix Charles Monselet recompense chaque annee les meilleures tables de Nantes.
