The following description of "A Game for Easter" was written at this time by Ray (aged ten and a half) and shows with what confidence we had already come to expect from Gram what we wanted. "Get a grandma to buy a lot of Easter eggs and some one to hide them in various places in the woods. Then set the children loose to find them and each keep what she finds." "Another game: "Persons. This game can be played by any number over six, provided it is even. We play with eight. "Aminuation: "Eight pea-shooters, two pistols, four bows and arrows, eight clubs and two swords. "Rules: "Leaders are chosen and the remainder devided into two eaqual parties. Each side is given a fort or leaval spot upon the side of a hill and a tent each, to live in, and a larger one for a hospitall, then set up a fence all round it (all of which will be done before). One party advances, keeping as much under cover as possable till they reach the edges of the other camp and then commence fire on all you can reach.
