Edward T. Dowling (Bronx, NY) is a professor of economics at Fordham University and currently serving his second term as the chairman of the department. He was the chairman of the economics department from 1979 to 1982 and the dean of Fordham College from 1982 to 1986. His Ph.D. is from Cornell University, and his main areas of professional interest are mathematical economics and economic development. In addition to articles, he is the author of "Schaum's Outline of Introduction to Mathematical Economics", Second Edition. He is also a Jesuit priest and a member of the Jesuit Community at Fordham.
