Dr.Zoltan Kovecses has opened the door to a new approach to the language of emotion, and thus to the study of emotion in general. Emotion Concepts concentrates its focus on the study of emotion where many disciplines have fallen short in their definitions. From psychology and philosophy, to anthropology and linguistics, Dr.Kovecses contends that there has been, thus far, little to 'constitute the cognitive structure of emotion concepts'. Continuing in the cognitive tradition then, the author makes full use of the conceptual tools that have not been available to scholars in the past by utilizing the cognitive models of emotions inherent in the conventionalized linguistic expressions used to describe the emotions.
