This book contains a comprehensive guide to learning Jiu-Jitsu and adopting the life style and diet of its practitioners. Jujutsu, also referred to as Jujitsu or Jiu-Jitsu, is a Japanese style of martial art and close combat that concentrates on defeating an armed opponent both with or without a short weapon. "Ju" means soft or flexible, while "Jutsu" means "art" or "technique" and refers to the use of your opponent's force against themselves. Contents include: "The History of Jiu-Jitsu with a description of its First Principles", "A Healthy Stomach the Basis of All Strength-What the Japanese Eat in Summer and Winter", "Feats that Strengthen the Heart and Lungs-Work that Brings the Arms to a Condition of Magnificent Development", "Exercises that Develop the Legs-The Incidental Benefit to the Arms", "The Value of Even Temper in Athletics-Some of the Feats that Require Good Nature", etc. Harrie Irving Hancock (1868 - 1922) was an American writer and chemist most famous for being an author of children's literature during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He also notable wrote a fictional depiction of a German invasion of the United States. Other notable works by this author include: "His One Ambition" (1892), "Captain of the Minute Men" (1890), and "The Prince of Grit" (1899). Many vintage books such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive.
