About the Author:
The foreword for each volume was written by Geoffrey H. Nash, a geologist with wide experience in surface mapping of rock formations, oil and gas exploration, environmental engineering, and surface water quality. Nash also has interests in paleontology, fossils, and natural selection. He received a B.A. from Knox College in Illinois and an M.B.A. from Boston University.

Martin Green is a successful author of a range of hairdressing texts, a practicing hairdresser, has worked as a college lecturer and regional verifier for City & Guilds and is a co-founder of Assessment Direct.

Jose Goldemberg

Roger Price taught at the University of East Anglia, 1968 93, eventually becoming Professor of European History. In 1993 he moved to Aberystwyth as Professor of History. His many other books include The French Second Republic: A Social History (1972), Revolution and Reaction: 1848 and the French Second Republic (1975), The Modernisation of Rural France: Communication Networks and Agricultural Market Structures in Nineteenth-Century France (1983), A Social History of Nineteenth-Century France (1987), The Revolutions of 1848 (1988) and A Concise History of France (1993).

Jeremy Woods is a Research Fellow at Imperial College's Centre for Environmental Policy and Technology.

Michael Geyer has a PhD from the Albert Ludwigs Universitat Freiburg and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oxford. He taught at the University of Michigan and as visiting professor in Bochum and Leipzig. He is most recently the author (with Konrad Jarausch) of Shattered Past; of Reconstructing German History; and of a forthcoming book (with Michel Espagne and Matthias Middell) titled European History in an Interconnected World. He has published extensively on the German military, war, and genocide as well as on resistance, terror, and religion. His current work focuses on defeat, nationalism, and self-destruction. He has been a Fellow at the American Academy in Berlin and the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Humboldt Forschungspreis.
