About the Author

Dr. Linda K. Stromei, SPHR is the president of LINCO, LLC, a consulting firm whose clients include public and private sector organizations. Dr. Stromei consults in all areas of human resources development and instructional design and training, and specializes in establishing and evaluating formal mentoring programs for organizations, and strategic planning.

Dr. Stromei holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Learning and Instructional Technologies from the University of New Mexico and a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of New Mexico. She holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.

Dr. Stromei has received several national research awards for her implementation and evaluation of formal mentoring programs, from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), from the International Mentoring Association (IMA), and from the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI). She has authored and/or edited several journal articles, book chapters and books . She is a contributing editor to Academic Exchange Quarterly.

An avid researcher in the field of mentoring and mentoring evaluation, Dr. Stromei presents her research at national conferences and is frequently asked to speak at local, regional and national conferences. Some of these conferences include the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), the International Mentoring Association's Diversity in Mentoring Conference (IMA), the Best Practices in Mentoring Conference, the Association for Application of Psychological Type, and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Dr. Stromei is an advisor to the Board of Directors for the US New Mexico Federal Credit Union, and is on the board of the International Mentoring Association and a member of the SHRM National College Relations Committee. She is the Professional Development Director of the SHRM State Council, serves on the board of the local ISPI chapter, and is a former board member of the local ASTD chapter. She serves as Faculty Advisor to the University of New Mexico SHRM Student Chapter.

In 1992, Jack J. Phillips founded Performance Resources Organization (PRO), an international consulting firm specializing in human resources accountability programs. Franklin C. Ashby, the president of Manchester Training, has 25 years of experience in training and development. He is often described as one of America's leading authorities on organizational effectiveness and improvement strategies.
