". . . grisly fun! Simmons is the finest, funniest writer about Texas I've ever read."
-- Alice Borchardt, author of Raven Warrior
"If you are looking for a fun, informative and entertaining mystery I recommend you read this book. It takes you into the world of paranormals, but on a believable level. The dialogue is fresh and funny and the conversations flow naturally. You will learn about the four areas of psychic senses: feeling, intuition, hearing and vision and the fact that all psychics are stronger in one or two of these areas, weaker in the others. There are even methods to remove ghosts from your dwelling. The characters are lively and endearing and the humor is very well done.
Alice Carpenter, an author/ghosthunter, who is recently divorced, has taken up residence in a haunted cabin near Six Gun, Texas. When her cousin Katy calls, begging Alice to help with the resident ghost at her family mansion, Espirt d' Chene, near Jefferson, Texas, Alice agrees to come to her rescue. However, before Alice has time to pack, Katy discovers a new murder - a headless corpse in her swimming pool. He is a real danger to everyone as he roams the plantation looking for his head.
While Alice tries to uncover the identity of the murderer, she must also face her feelings for her ex-husband, Jack, who is the homicide detective in charge of this investigation. To complicate matters even more, Alice is also attracted to a new handsome stranger, Cory Stevens, whom she meets during the investigation.
There are several suspects in this case, including Alice's cousin, Katy. The author manages to keep the reader guessing as to the real murderer until the conclusion of the story.
This author comes by her material naturally, as she lives in a haunted house in East Texas with her husband and pets. She has been on several ghost hunts and even has pictures of ghosts she has taken during her adventures."

"With ghosts practically outnumbering live characters, this entertaining romp may not be to everyone?s liking, but it?s certainly worth a gander. For regional collections."
