Path of Life: The Way of Wisdom for Christ Followers looks at wisdom literature from the perspective of a pastor deeply concerned about the condition of contemporary society. Western culture in general and American culture in particular has unwisely cut itself off from its deepest spiritual, moral, and practical roots in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Overcoming the deep-seated incoherence of our society will involve a recovery of sources of moral and practical wisdom that lie at the very roots of human society. This book is an attempt to take a look at these roots in a way that is accessible not just to experts but also to laypersons who are willing to work a bit to understand the sources of our current condition and the way forward.

G. Christopher Scruggs is Senior Pastor of Advent Presbyterian Church in Cordova, Tennessee. Chris earned an MDiv from Union Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. He previously authored Centered Living/Centered Leading: The Way of Light and Love.
I can't think of a better prescription for our rootless culture, dripping with heartache from the punishing consequences of misguided actions, than to read and digest PATH OF LIFE. Grounded in the wisdom of the ages, it makes life worth the living --Warner Davis, author of ''Peace in a Mad Dog World''
In this engaging, practical study of the Bible's wisdom literature, Chris Scruggs calls us away from the assumptions of today's world and invites us to humbly open our lives to the wisdom that has its source in God. Scruggs winsomely shows how these texts can help us to rediscover the moral order of the universe and to see reality and our lives as God sees them. --Rob Weingartner, Executive Director, The Outreach Foundation, Tennessee
Chris Scruggs captures the experiential practices of growing deep in God's wisdom. He invites us to walk the path of righteousness as God shapes us through Scripture, sexual fidelity, family, work, and suffering. His grounding of these elements in St. Benedict's Rule of Life provides an accessible and compelling invitation to mature in holy character. This is an excellent study for congregations and their leaders! --Thomas F. Tumblin, Dean, Beeson International Center, Asbury Theological Seminary, Kentucky
