Synopsis

The development of relatively insoluble cortico-steroids has provided doctors with a useful and effective treatment for the painful musculo-skeletal lesions that commonly occur in soft tissues and inflammatory arthropathies. Although many of these conditions maybe self-limiting, effective treatment using steroid injections is often dramatic and, when accurately diagnosed and skilfully injected, produces relief for patients in most cases. These problems are considered to be an important part of the general practice curriculum. It is the aim of this book to provide a comprehensive knowledge and demonstration of the skills in an illustrative way, and to impart to practitioners the ability to inject with confidence.

Review

'A concise but nevertheless comprehensive guide to injection techniques for common musculoskeletal conditions... It would make a useful addition to any surgery or clinic where these procedures are practiced and would provide excellent background for anyone pursuing sports medicine or musculoskeletal training.'
