About the Author:
Douglas Fisher, PhD: Assistant Professor, Department of Teacher Education at San Diego State University. Doug has taught a range of courses in the teacher credentialing program, as well as graduate and doctoral courses in the College of Education. Through his project director position at Interwork Institute, he has also provided technical assistance and progressive preservice and inservice training to school districts, adult service agencies, and other community service providers in the area of literacy, curriculum development, policy change, and inclusive education reform.

Nancy Frey, MA: Nancy completed her master's degree at San Diego State University with an emphasis in Reading and Language Arts. She is currently a facilitator for the Florida Department of Education's Florida Inclusion Network where she works with teachers and families to design supports for students with disabilities in their general education classes. Her current interests include curriculum accommodations and modifications and inclusive education.

Caren Sax, EdD: Assistant Professor, Department of Administration, Rehabilitation, and Postsecondary Education at San Diego State University. She was a special education teacher for 15 years in Arizona public schools before joining Interwork Institute as a project director, where her expertise includes assistive technology, inclusive education, continuing education, professional development, school to career curriculum, and distance learning.
