Synopsis
Izzy and Ellie are sisters whose lives were irrevocably changed when their mother committed suicide on her 41st birthday. Izzy is now on the eve of turning 41 herself “entering virgin time” and her family is about to descend on the emotionally charged weekend.
Alternating between past and present, Izzy reflects on her mother’s turbulent life and long-buried guilt surrounding the suicide. When Izzy discovers her sister is also showing signs of mental angst, Izzy is forced to reconsider her family loyalties and find a way to spare her niece from the torment she herself had to go through long ago.
Crazy As Chocolate is an emotional, yet uplifting novel that explores the love-hate relationships between loved ones and the family bonds they share.

About the Author
Born and raised in New Hampshire, Elisabeth Hyde trained as a lawyer but decided against practicing law. In 1986 she took some temporary time off and wrote her first novel, Her Native Colors (Delacorte), and never looked back. Her second novel, Monoosook Valley (Delta Fiction) was published in 1989. She lives in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado with her family.
