This book is the result of recent research by contemporary scientists on topics which were discussed at the conference of the same name in Volgograd, Russia in April 2017. The global economic system is currently in a stage of active formation and development: its boundaries and conditions of existence are constantly changing, which is accompanied by crises that influence the economic systems of its member countries. In order to solve problems emanating from global economic crises, a new direction was formed in modern science – global crisis management. Development of this direction requires the formation of the accompanying categorical apparatus, the development of a corresponding scientific and methodological basis, and the engagement in extensive practical research.

The global economic system is in a state of constant flux and development. Its limits and conditions of existence constantly change, and are accompanied by crises that influence the economic systems of all countries that are members of the global economy. To solve the problems associated with environmental and industrial disasters in the 1980s, a new field of academic study appeared crisis management. The threat to organizations and institutions, the element of surprise and short response time associated with crises clearly applies to the economic system and this conference explores how crisis management and the tools that have become asociated with it, can assist in preventing or mitigating the effects of future economic crises. The results of recent studies by scholars on both the theory and practice of the use of crisis management as a tool for managing economic systems are discussed at the conference, in April in Volgograd. This book presents the unifying knowledge and experience of scholars from various disciplines in both science and management useful for solving actual problems through global crisis management. It looks at translating the knowledge, experience and achievements of the experts from many countries into further research opportunites in this field.
