Synopsis

This study was conducted to investigate the impact of training and development programs (including, access to training, support for training and benefits from training) on employee performance. This research explored that the organizational commitment as a mediating variable played a positive relationship between training and development programs and employee performance. The finding indicated that demographic factors; like age, gender, education, and employment status have also a strong impact on these variables. The sample size was 174 that were taken from four textile industries in District Faisalabad, Pakistan. There were applied different tests through SPSS 20 software and primary data was used. The results supported our hypothesis through past literature and research to training and development, organizational commitment, and employee performance.
