The conference continues to serve a broad object-oriented community with a technical program spanning theory and practice. The program was rounded out with keynotes by Oege De Moor, Ivar Jacobson and Bertrand Meyer, and a banquet speech by Jean Bzivin. The proceedings include 16 papers selected from 60 submissions. The papers were reviewed in a single-blind process with 4-7 reviews per paper. The Program Committee (PC) discussions followed Oscar Nierstrasz' Champion pattern. PC papers had additional reviews and were held at a higher standard. For the ?rst time this year, TOOLS had a PC meeting which combined in-person discussions and electronic presence. TOOLS owes is success to the e?orts of many.
