Jorge Zepeda Patterson, economista y sociólogo, hizo maestría en la Flacso (Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales) y estudios de doctorado en Ciencia Política en la Sorbona de París. Fundó y dirigió la revista Día Siete y es analista en radio, televisión y prensa escrita. Su columna dominical aparece en veinte diarios de México, y todos los jueves El País publica en la edición para América su columna Pensándolo bien. Fue director fundador de los diarios Siglo 21 y Público en Guadalajara y director de El Universal. En 1999 obtuvo el Premio Maria Moors Cabot, de la Universidad de Columbia. Dirige el diario digital Sinembargo. mx. Autor y coautor de media docena de libros de análisis, entre otros: Los amos de México (Planeta, 2007) y Los suspirantes (Planeta, 2012).
