Synopsis
Genuine disciples of Christ must be passionate about what drives them. They will not succumb to being driven by worldly affairs, personalities, egos, status in the community, or programs or events in the church that seek to divert their attention from the goal of being a genuine disciple. For a church to please God, it must develop the driving intensity of the ministry as it reflects on the Great Commission in Matt 28:18–20, establishing purpose driven disciples who grow spiritually, remain healthy, and focus on building the kingdom of God. When disciples are intentional about growing and maturing, they will pray, study, and seek the presence of the Holy Spirit for a greater anointing to become a greater witness for Christ. About the Author
Johnny Turner is the Associate Minister of training and teaching the associate ministers at the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Orlando, Florida. Turner is a former Adjunct Professor of the New York Theological Seminary Certificate Program, New York. He is the author of A Biblical Theology of Christian Discipleship and God Is a Strong Shelter: Weathering Storms Through Reading Psalms. He is a certified dean of the Sunday School Publishing Board, USA, and a certified grief counseling specialist.
