Contemporary calf with elaborately gilt tooled spine, marbled paper-laid boards with gilt rolled and blind-stamped borders, and marbled edges (light wear at edges - othwerwise bright VG). Pp. [ii] + ii + 598, illus with engraved title, 30 engraved plates and figures in text (some pages and plates rather toned; no inscriptions).
